About Me

Annie Monks offers a unique blend of non-pathologizing, relaxed, and trauma-informed therapy sessions tailored to your specific needs. With a background in Social Work, Art Therapy and Sexology, Annie brings a wealth of experience and compassion to her practice. Trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Somatic Counselling, Expressive Therapies, and Narrative Therapy,  she is well-equipped to support you on your journey towards healing and empowerment.

Annie’s extensive experience in mental health and family therapy allows her to provide insightful and effective counselling. Her approach is guided by Somatic and Embodied Counselling practices, Narrative Therapy techniques, and Mindfulness strategies. She aims to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely, without fear of judgment.

Annie is dedicated to helping you navigate all aspects of sex and sexuality. Her main areas of interest include attachment theory in relationships, overcoming feelings of shame, body image concerns, sexual trauma, fear and anxiety, and arousal issues. She is passionate about helping individuals move through these challenges to achieve a fulfilling and pleasurable sexual life.

Fees

Individual sessions: $200 an hour (inc GST) 

Relationship Therapy: $250 an hour (inc GST)

Funding options

NDIS, Victims of Crime, Mental Healthcare Plan, Department of Veterans Affairs, Private Health Insurance. Annie offers a sliding scale and bulk billing for people who are experiencing financial hardship. Please contact Annie to discuss.
